Drawing: Matrix

Adults

Students will work in a limited context or matrix, and use the restrictions not as an inhibiting factor, but as a challenging format for discovery and expression. Students will select an object from nature as a source of inspiration to create a series of small realistic exploratory pencil drawings that carefully examine the intricate details of the object. They will then transform these drawings into larger abstract works that explore gesture and space.
