Let's Get Negative!

Adults

Create more interesting shapes and depth in your watercolor paintings by thinking both positive and negative. Both positive painted shapes and those left unpainted or painted around, which are called negative shapes, add visual interest to paintings. Color theory and value contrast will help students create more interesting patterns and depth in their watercolor paintings. Nature will be our subject matter as we explore ways to create a path of light or dark.
