Sculptural Welding 2.0

This class is a continuation of Sculptural Welding for students who have completed the Sculptural Welding or Intro to Metals class. Create, design, and build a steel sculpture with guidance from the instructor and improve welding skills by further understanding heat distortion, joint preparation, and machine settings. Patinas and finishes will be covered. Students will also learn how to drill and tap holes for the mechanical fastening of components using machine screws and bolts—a great technique for larger sculptures or joining dissimilar materials.
