Using the tradition of plein air painting as a point of departure, this one-of-a-kind course provides daily opportunities to create works of art in direct response to the urban environment of downtown Austin. Working beneath the open-air, covered canopy of the Jones Center, students will use the immediacy of drawing to render views of the city, learning the ins and outs of line, value, composition, and perspective. This class meets at the Jones Center, 700 Congress Avenue.
All supplies provided! Bring a healthy snack for break time. Dress for mess. No early drop-off or late pick-up. Children are under parental supervision and responsibility on the Museum’s grounds before, between, and after classes.
