Spring Break Metalworking for Teens (ages 14+)
Ages 14-17, Spring Break Classes
Learn the basics of welding and explore the possibilities of steel as more than an industrial material. Develop a foundation of forming, joining, and finishing techniques and learn how to achieve expressive surfaces. Students will examine how linear materials may be manipulated to construct projects ranging from functional objects to abstract sculpture.

All supplies provided! Bring a healthy snack for break time. Dress for mess. Closed-toe shoes and long pants are required for wood, metal, stone, or other sculpture classes. Eye and ear protection is provided, but some students prefer to bring their own which you are welcome to do. No early drop-off or late pick-up. Children are under parental supervision and responsibility on the Museum’s grounds before, between, and after classes.
