The Artists Shadow

This is a multimedia course focused on mastering the use of light, shadow, and form in 2D art. Through direct observation, students will explore value transitions, starting with graphite and charcoal, then moving into acrylic and oil paint. Each session will focus on controlled lighting setups to emphasize chiaroscuro, gradually progressing from simple objects to more complex forms, culminating in a figure study. The course emphasizes the application of value to sculpt light and create depth, offering an exploration of the essential techniques of realistic rendering.
