Weaving: Beyond Basics

If you have some familiarity with weaving, this open studio will guide you through your own projects. After reviewing materials and techniques, we will tackle design and work independently. Students have made everything from wall hangings and tapestries to shawls, towels, blankets, and scarves, in materials ranging from wool and cotton to wire and found materials and techniques ranging from lace to balanced plain weave to weft faced. The supply fee includes the rental of a 10-inch-wide Cricket rigid heddle loom, or you are welcome to bring your own, wider loom. Shaft looms are also welcome! Contact the instructor if you have questions or plan to bring a shaft loom.

ONLINE CLASSES: Tap into your creativity right from your home in an online Art School class! We're offering live, online classes in drawing, painting, ceramics, and more, taught by our wonderful Art School faculty in real time. Capacity is limited to ensure small class sizes so you can maximize your time with your instructor and your classmates. You'll learn together in community with your fellow students, with additional opportunities for one-on-one time and individual feedback from your instructor, just like in our in-person classes!
