Annual Celebration of Nancy Holt’s Time Span

In accordance with new guidelines from the City of Austin as a result of COVID-19, this event has been postponed until Spring 2021. We will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves and will make decisions about future museum programming in the coming days and weeks.

Join us for this annual celebration of Time Span and see how the steel wheel of Nancy Holt’s sculpture casts a shadow around its plaque set into the earth and brings into focus Laguna Gloria in springtime. Shadow reaches alignment at 3P, so arrive early to witness its movements.

Hear remarks by Annette DiMeo Carlozzi, the curator who commissioned the project in 1981, and Lisa Le Feuvre, Executive Director of Holt/Smithson Foundation.
