Art History March Madness: Part 1

This crash course in modern and contemporary art history, modeled after college basketball’s tournament, asks you to decide the most influential artists of the twentieth century. Artist Robert Jackson Harrington will present the Sweet 16 and the artists’ significant work and legacies. Discuss and vote to advance your favorite artists through rounds of elimination and help determine the champion in this interactive tournament that playfully considers how art history is written and/or forgotten.

Don’t miss: Voting begins online on March 10 for Round 1 of the preliminary tournament. Chris Burden vs. Vito Acconci? Jenny Holzer vs. Dan Graham? You decide who will be guaranteed a place at Art History March Madness!
