Drift-In Theater: Moonrise Kingdom

Click here for info about 2017 Series!

The Drift-In Theater Series presents films to Contemporary Austin Members in Laguna Gloria’s scenic, secluded lagoon. Watercraft both large and small are invited to anchor at sunset and enjoy this unique opportunity to experience The Contemporary Austin by water.

Due to recent rainfall in the Austin area and watercraft bans initiated by city officials, this event (previously scheduled for June 3) has been rescheduled for Friday, June 17. All tickets will transfer over to the new date. If you are unable to attend on June 17, we are happy to refund your ticket! Please contact us at [email protected] for ticketing and refund information.

Join us for a special floating screening of Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom. Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, Moonrise Kingdom tells the story of two twelve-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness. But a storm is brewing offshore—and the peaceful island community is turned upside down in every which way. (2012, 94 min.)
