Green Screen Film Series: The Getaway
Friday nights in July, pack a picnic, cruise by Terry Allen’s Road Angel sound sculpture, and catch classic films selected by the artist, featuring car chases, questionable choices, and road trips on the run.
Refused parole, a convict (Steve McQueen) and his wife (Ali MacGraw) strike a deal with a crooked Texan who agrees to pull strings in return for help on a bank heist. They take off after the job goes awry, aiming to get to Mexico before they're caught or, worse, killed. (Directed by Sam Peckinpah, 1972, 122 min., PG)
