Featuring a Conversation with Art Historian Jana La Brasca and Astrologer Sister Palm
Join art historian Jana La Brasca and astrologer Sister Palm at Laguna Gloria on Friday, April 5 from 2:30P–4P to celebrate the birthday of legendary land artist Nancy Holt. Be sure to arrive by 3pm in order to see shadows cast by Holt’s permanent installation at Laguna Gloria, Time Span, perfectly frame a plaque the artist placed in the ground to demarcate the date of her birth and the artwork’s completion.
For this year’s celebration of Holt and her artwork – occurring just days before the solar eclipse on April 8th – we will gather at the site of Time Span for a conversation about Holt’s work and career from the dual perspectives of an art historian and astrologer. What insights are there to glean about Holt’s life and work from analyzing the artist’s natal chart? How might planetary transitions have aligned with significant moments in Holt’s career?
Join us to learn more during this special event and extended hours at Laguna Gloria.
