Join us for a magical afternoon filled with artmaking and adventures with local artists and entertainers. The first ever Very ‘Rary will take over the lawns, woods, and shoreline of The Contemporary Austin – Laguna Gloria with experiences that play on illusion, inspired by the spooky time of year and the park's many sculptures that seem to masquerade throughout the grounds.

Join local guest artists Erin Cunningham and Austin Film School to make creepy plaster hands and experiment with movie makeup.
Spark all your senses with event partner Snoop Slime.
Add your mark to a larger-than-life art environment.
Get lost in whimsical, artist-created spaces in partnership with Art Island.
Embark on a Sculpture Scavenger Hunt in wild landscapes where art comes to life.
Chill out in an unbelievably cool Snow Zone.
The young musicians in The School of Rock will keep you dancing all day.

The Contemporary’s first-ever family-friendly, all-ages annual fundraiser, The Very ‘Rary benefits contemporary art experiences for local K-12 students, including our award-winning, year-long program for Title I Schools, Seeing Special Things.

Parking is available along 35th Street. No parking will be allowed on the grounds of Laguna Gloria. For your convenience, access to additional free parking and shuttle service will be available at Camp Mabry. Please note:
All passengers over the age of 18 will need a government issued ID and must present to Camp Mabry staff at the gate
Shuttles will run the entirety of the event from Camp Mabry to Laguna Gloria front gate
If any cars are left on site at the end of the event, they will be towed
