Join us on Oct 29 (Sun) for a magical afternoon filled with artmaking and adventures, benefitting contemporary art experiences for local K-12 students.

The Very ‘Rary will take over the lawns, woods, and shoreline of Laguna Gloria with experiences that play on illusion, inspired by the park's many sculptures throughout the grounds.

Highlights you can look forward to include a performance by Sky Candy aerialists inspired by Tom Friedman’s towering sculpture, Looking Up. School of Rock returns for a rockin’ good time. Glass Half Full Theater and Polly Mermaid go lagoonal with lakeside interactive puppet workshops alongside Wengechi Mutu’s Water Woman. Mad Science gets oozy with slime making experiments, and so much more!

Plus, enjoy food and drink from some of Austin’s finest.

Please follow these instructions to ensure a smooth arrival experience to the event. We look forward to welcoming you and hope you have a wonderful time at the second annual Very Rary!

GUEST PARKING

Location: Camp Mabry, 2200 W 35th St, Austin, TX 78703

Entrance: Please enter Camp Mabry from the 35th Street entrance.

Security Check: For security purposes, kindly have a photo ID ready to present to the guard at the entrance gate.

Parking Area: After clearing the entrance, proceed along Maintenance Drive until you reach the end. You will find the designated event parking lot on the left side. Look for a 10x10 tent and event staff stationed in the vicinity.

Shuttle Service: We will be providing shuttle services from Camp Mabry to the entrance of Laguna Gloria throughout the entire event, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Shuttles will be running at regular intervals for your convenience.

RIDESHARE

If you plan on using a rideshare service, follow these instructions for a convenient experience:

Directions to Drop-off Point: Instruct your rideshare driver to follow 35th Street as if heading to the Laguna Gloria entrance. When you reach the Mount Bonnell turn, you'll see a police officer stationed there. Your driver can take a right onto Mount Bonnell and pull over into the grassy area on the right, located at 3300 Mt Bonnell Rd, Austin, TX. This will be your designated drop-off point.

Walk to Laguna Gloria: From the drop-off location it's just a short and delightful 1/4-mile stroll—about a 10-minute walk—to the entrance at Laguna Gloria

Return Pickup: If you plan to use a rideshare service for your return journey, please arrange for your driver to pick you up from the same location at 3300 Mt Bonnell Rd, Austin, TX.
