IMAGE: Goodly/Wicked, 2014 Crit Group Exhibition.
Goodly/Wicked is the culminating exhibition of The Contemporary Austin’s inaugural 2014 Crit Group, a six-month program that combines group critique with professional development to support the complete artistic practice of established and emerging artists in the Austin area.
Curated by Crit Group co-leaders Sarah C. Bancroft and Andy Campbell, this group exhibition includes works in collage, drawing, contemporary jewelry, installation, painting, performance, sculpture, and video by nine participating artists: Jeana Baumgardner, Bug Davidson, Robert Jackson Harrington, HIXX Collective, Katy Horan, Masumi Kataoka, Olivia Moore, and Teruko Nimura. The exhibition title, Goodly/Wicked, is inspired by the name of a series of work by Crit Group artist Katy Horan, and recalls the range and rigor within each artist's practice as well as among the group as a whole.
