The Contemporary receives gift of Ursula von Rydingsvard's Luna, 2007

Luna is made out of a very dense material, urethane resin, that I chose because it has the capacity of absorbing and reflecting sunlight,” the German-born, US-based sculptor noted. “A touch of color (like the color one sees in water, sky, or clouds) was added to the resin.” Read about von Rydingsvard's process and this significant acquisition here, and come say hi to Luna at the Betty and Edward Marcus Sculpture Park at Laguna Gloria!
