Biography
Lise Haller Baggesen (Danish, born 1969 in Aarhus; lives and works in Chicago) left Denmark in 1992 to study painting at the AKI, Academy of Art and Industrial Design in Enschede, and the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. In 2008 she relocated to Chicago with her family, where she completed her MA in Visual Critical Studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2013.
Baggesen’s work has been shown internationally at venues including Overgaden, Copenhagen; W139, Amsterdam; the Municipal Museum, The Hague; MoMu, Antwerp; Württembergischer Kunstverein, Stuttgart; and CEAC, Xiamen. She has also exhibited at the Poor Farm in Manawa, Wisconsin; Vox Populi in Philadelphia; and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.
