Beginning Metalworking
Adults
Learn welding, cutting, and grinding as you create steel sculptures in this foundational class. Basic MIG welding, fabrication techniques and safe work practices will be taught and emphasized throughout the class. This class must be completed before taking advanced metalwork classes.
Students who need to miss either of the first two sessions should not register for the course.

While all supplies are provided, We recommend you purchase your own set of leather work gloves to ensure a proper fit for dexterity. Please wear jeans or work pants, a tee shirt and bring a long sleeve shirt.
Clothes should be of cotton or predominantly cotton blend. Wear leather boots, or shoes that fully cover feet. Pants need to cover ankles and top of shoe/ boot.
Warning: Magnetic fields found in this class can be harmful to pacemaker wearers. Pregnant welders are at risk of suffering adverse pregnancy outcomes. If you have a pacemaker or are pregnant, please do not register for any metalworking classes with the Art School.
