ART SCHOOL / CLASS LISTINGS

Children's Book Illustration Lab

Adults

Come with ideas for images you’d like to develop for a children’s book. In this hands-on class, you’ll refine one or more concepts into storyboard thumbnails, a developed black-and-white sketch, and a finished color illustration using traditional watercolor. This class is a great starting point for building your illustration portfolio. Along the way, we’ll cover essential topics, including creating and submitting a picture book dummy, the differences between children’s book illustration and fine art, and an overview of agents, art reps, editors, art directors, and the evolving children’s publishing market.
