Color Theory and Abstraction

This course presents the fundamentals of color theory in an easy to understand and sequential manner. Students will explore the relationships of color through exercises that go beyond simply making a color wheel and practicing color scales. This course will introduce the vocabulary of color in such a way that students will come away from the course fluent in the usage of color. As each lesson builds off of the previous, students will feel more and more comfortable discussing and using complementary colors, color temperatures, and contextual color. Students will put these ideas into use by creating their own abstract paintings
