Contemporary Landscape Painting (online)

Adults

What will you discover when you spend time with a place? In this observational landscape painting class, students will paint outdoors to capture their environment. Like John Constable, we will paint settings close to home, such as a front yard, or a local park or creek to see them in a new light. We will start by drawing the landscape, then quickly shift to painting with acrylics in black and white and then color. Students will learn perspective, value, hue, and composition to share their vision of the world around them. Experimentation encouraged. What to expect:

  • One hours of instruction and demonstrations
  • Two hours of guided work time to put techniques into practice
  • One-on-one instructor feedback
  • Access to class slideshow presentations
  • Recordings of each class session
