Laguna Dreamscapes: Watercolor & Oil Pastel

Immerse yourself in the lush, sensory world of Laguna Gloria as you explore the dynamic relationship between watercolor and oil pastel. In this experimental, medium-based course, we’ll play with resist techniques, layering, and expressive mark-making to create bold, dreamlike compositions inspired by the natural beauty and atmosphere of the grounds.

Through guided demonstrations and creative prompts, you’ll learn how watercolor can serve as painting foundations while oil pastels introduce texture and contrast. Whether you’re drawn to landscapes, plant forms, architectural details, or the mood of a moment, you’ll have the freedom to choose your own subject matter—working from direct observation or personal imagery.

This class is an invitation to loosen up and discover how two seemingly opposite mediums can merge into a harmonious visual language that’s entirely your own.
