Papier Mâché and Paper Play: Sculpting with Paper

Adults

Explore 3D art with the familiar material of paper. Experiment with paper mache, paper clay, and paper engineering by making playful sculptures inspired by everyday objects, nature, and our imaginations. Along the way we’ll look into the tools and techniques of modern and contemporary paper artists to see what we can learn from their craft and concepts. Participants will make armatures, think in three dimensions, and paint finished products. No sculpture experience necessary.

Participants should bring: a small sketchbook and pencil for sketching out ideas, plus a good pair of scissors. All other supplies provided.
