Personal Maps of the Imagination

Adults

Loosely using the concept of maps as theme, we will create non-traditional personal maps based on our own experiences and fantasies. These “maps of the imagination” can be abstract, realistic, or non-objective and done in any media. Some possible considerations: poetry map, retirement map, topography of a face map, walking map (from point A to point B), music map, marriage map, dreams map, landscape map, mood map, mythological map, popular culture map, career map, petroglyph map, fictitious map, map of influences, dating map, etc.

Check out these contemporary artists that use map themes in their work: Derek Lerner: dereklerner.com, Patrice Dworkin: patricedworkin.com, Etienne Gelinas : etiennegelinas.com, Matthew Ritchie: Google , Julie Mehretu: Google
