Portraiture from Photos

Adults

Work from personal photographs to create portraits that capture a likeness. This class will explore color media such as prismacolor pencils and pastel. Students will learn to map positions and proportions accurately and to read value shapes to create visual volume. By the end of the class, students will be able understand how to see the potential portrait in a photo and how to photograph people in order to draw effectively from that photo. Instructor will supply photos to get started. Gridding will not be taught in this class.
