Based on West African folktales, and the art and cultural heritage of Senegal and Guinea, this film tells the story of the inquisitive boy Kirikou, who embarks on a quest to save his village from a mysterious sorceress. Featuring exquisite hand-drawn animation and a magnificent African pop score by Youssou N'Dour, this is one of the most enduring animated features of the 1990s.
