In Conversation with Marie Javins + Batman #121 Comic Book Release

Join us for a conversation with Robin K. Williams, Curator of Daniel Johnston: I Live My Broken Dreams, and Marie Javins, Editor-in-Chief of DC Comics, to discuss and celebrate the release of the newest Batman comic with variant covers featuring original artwork by Daniel Johnston. Learn about Javins’s longtime friendship with Johnston, the influence of comics on his artwork, and the course of Javins’s career in the comics industry.

Released exclusively by Austin Books & Comics in partnership with Electric Lady Studios and The Contemporary Austin, the limited-edition issue of Batman #121 will be available for preorder beginning February 14. Limited quantities of the trade-dressed covers featuring an original illustration of Batman by Johnston will be sold individually, while sets of all three variant covers, featuring Batman, Superman, and DC’s New God Orian, will be packaged in unique folios and sold in limited quantities at the Shop at The Contemporary, Electric Lady Studios, Austin Books & Comics, and through The Daniel Johnston Trust at hihowareyou.com. Each partner will have an exclusive colorway for the folio.
