Nancy Holt’s Birthday

Happy Birthday, Nancy Holt! Forty-five years ago, land art pioneer Nancy Holt created the sculpture Time Span especially for the beautiful lakeside grounds of Laguna Gloria. Come witness a special once a year event, when the shadow of the sculpture’s steel wheel aligns around a plaque inscribed with the date the artwork was completed, which also happens to be Holt’s birthday.

To celebrate Holt’s birthday, we’re extending our hours to 5P, for you to enjoy additional time in the sculpture park, but the best time to view the activation of the sculpture and its shadow is at 3P.
