Nicole Sarah Eisenman + Sarah Nicole Prickett: Conversation

Free with museum admission, advance tickets recommended. Seating is limited and first come, first seated; ticket does not guarantee seat.

New York–based artist Nicole Eisenman, winner of The Contemporary Austin’s 2020 Suzanne Deal Booth / FLAG Art Foundation Prize, will speak upon the opening of her new solo exhibition, Sturm und Drang. Encompassing a wide range of media including drawing, painting, and sculpture, this exhibition focuses on the artist’s anti-monumental and enigmatic three-dimensional work. Eisenman’s practice blends the influence of Western art history and traditional figuration with elements of punk music, feminist activism, queer sexuality, humor, and emotional rawness to create profoundly unique works.

Art critic, editor, and journalist Sarah Nicole Prickett will join Nicole Sarah Eisenman in conversation. Prickett lives in California and is a writer for Artforum and Bookforum.

This event takes place on the Moody Rooftop at the Jones Center on Congress Avenue. Jackets and blankets encouraged!
