Enjoy a lively evening of cocktails and DJ entertainment by p1nkstar on the rooftop as we celebrate the opening of our newest exhibition, IN A DREAM YOU SAW A WAY TO SURVIVE AND YOU WERE FULL OF JOY. With a title referencing a text by the prominent feminist artist Jenny Holzer, the exhibition includes works by Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley, Adriana Corral, Ellie Ga, Juliana Huxtable, Tala Madani, Danielle Mckinney, Wendy Red Star, and Clare Rojas—eight artists whose work explores how narrative and storytelling shape our senses of self, community, history, and identity.
Hint: Museum Members get a first look at the exhibition during the Members Preview from 6–8P. Click here to become a member now.
Capacity is limited. Please RSVP. Two drink tickets are included with admission.
p1nkstar creates a world far removed from this dimension's binaries through music and conceptual shows, merging hyperpop with neo-perreo and club. She has been described as “early Aughts Paris Hilton on Hello Kitty steroids” by The Austin Chronicle, who crowned her as their Pop Princess in 2020. Since 2016, p1nkstar has rapidly become an emblematic figure in the Texas arts and nightlife scenes by opening spaces that center the work of trans and queer artists. p1nkstar has received three Best of Austin awards for her space-making work in the city and most recently became the first trans person to receive an Austin Music Award, winning Best Electronic Artist of the year.
