Celebrating Guadalupe Maravilla’s Mariposa Relámpago
Make your way to Laguna Gloria and wander down into the lower meadow for an evening reception celebrating the unveiling of artist Guadalupe Maravilla’s Mariposa Relámpago. Nested amongst the canopy of trees the artist will be present to activate the bus, which is the artist’s largest sculpture to date and acts as both a shrine and a sound healing instrument.
Nyam Sunshine Cuisine will be on-site selling delicious Caribbean Latino fare. Complimentary drinks will also be on offer, sponsored by LALO Tequila and Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
Come and experience this special new temporary addition to Laguna Gloria, the second stop on its journey across Texas. Free and open to the public, family and children friendly!
This reception is presented in conjunction with the installation Mariposa Relámpago on view through at Laguna Gloria November 3, 2024. Learn more about the project and the artist here.
