About Lori Wallace, Teaching Artist:
Lori Wallace (she/her) is a wife, mom, educator, artist, and ally. She loves art, music, books, and kids. She teaches pre-kindergarten through 5th grade students using the Teaching for Artistic Behavior pedagogy–teaching children to think and work like artists! She is dedicated to empowering students to believe in their own creative agency; in the validity and worth of their own stories; and in their capacity to tackle life’s challenges with an eye to humor, beauty, and joy.
About WSSA:
The Weavers and Spinners Society of Austin (WSSA) is an all-volunteer non-profit serving the weaving and spinning community of Austin and surrounding areas of central Texas. Dedicated to promoting, educating about, the textile arts of weaving, spinning, and dyeing, members use traditional as well as new techniques to create wearable art, fine household items, and artistic pieces. WSSA offers monthly lectures and presentations to its members, as well as workshops, field trips, and a yearly opportunity to display and sell their work via a studio tour.
