In conjunction with Texas Book Festival
Many books document art. Books themselves can be art. Artists have written books, make books, and bookmaking is often considered its own art form. In atypical fashion, this author conversation delves beyond the shelves for a closer look at print, design, and literary culture.
As part of this year's Texas Book Festival, hear from interdisciplinary artists Sean Ripple, Jared Ritz, and Vico Tadeo Puentes for a panel exploring the enduring love for print. Together, they'll discuss what led them to the world of print, and what opportunities and challenges lie ahead for physical media in an increasingly digital age.
Advance registration is encouraged. Registration for this conversation does not guarantee a seat. Arrive early and check-in at the front desk to secure a spot. Limited capacity is available.

Jared Ritz is the publisher and designer for BooBooBooks,an Austin-based artbook press producing monographs, catalogues, and artist books with emerging artists. Austin artist Laura Lit’s first monograph will be published by BooBooBooks to coincide with her current exhibition on view at The Contemporary Austin.

Vico Tadeo Puentes is the force behind TOMO mags, a magazine shop dedicated to sparking curiosity and collaboration through printed media. He is also the founder of the News Reading Club, a movement to rebuild people's confidence in how they read the news.

Moderating the conversation is Sean Ripple, an interdisciplinary artist, writer, and curator whose work often examines our relationship to literary media.
