Scholarships
Applying for Scholarships
The Contemporary Austin is currently re-evaluating our scholarship program to The Art School. In the meantime, we are accepting applications for Stand-by Scholarships.
Stand-by Scholarships are awarded 1-week prior to the beginning of class terms, based upon the number of open seats available at that time. Students awarded stand-by scholarships will receive waived tuition but will still need to pay for a TCA Membership ($40) and the supply fee for their class (fees vary). Those awarded standby scholarships will be notified of available space in eligible classes 1-week in advance of the start date.

Parents/Guardians: Please check back soon for updates on our youth Summer Art Program scholarships. We are currently only granting youth stand-by scholarships, although we hope to re-open applications soon for standard scholarships.
Eligibility: The Contemporary Austin Art School uses the Income Limits for the Austin - Round Rock Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) as defined by Travis County to determine scholarship eligibility. Income that qualifies as very low, low or below moderate qualifies for a scholarship that covers up to 100% of tuition costs. Individual circumstances are considered on a case-by-case basis and may be taken into account in determining eligibility.
The Art School’s scholarship program exists to increase access to our classes and workshops for those who can’t participate in our program without financial assistance. The Contemporary Austin is committed to DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility) and scholarships are one of the ways we are living our mantra to address barriers based on race, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, socio-economic status (according to the Income Limits for the Austin-Round Rock Metropolitan Statical Area (MSA) as defined by Travis County), and other diversity lenses that might set back inclusion at TCA. Scholarships are also prioritized for veterans, educators, and first time students to The Art School.
