Announcing New Board of Trustees Slate for 2025-27
Effective May 2025, six new members have been appointed to The Contemporary Austin’s Board of Trustees. Under the incredible leadership of Board President Debbie Dupré, the Board has been instrumental in governing the organization in recent years, and these new appointments will further strengthen that foundation. New members include Liz Bullock, Tim Dowling, Steven González, Lora Reynolds, Tammie Rubin, and Albert Swantner. The incoming trustees bring diverse expertise spanning technology, finance, contemporary art, marketing, education, and community leadership. These areas will strengthen and support the museum's mission of championing contemporary art that provokes thought and joy, leading to deeper experiences, bigger conversations, and a closer community.

Liz Bullock is a seasoned marketer and artist with over 30 years of experience, and most recently established the public relations program at Four Hands, a global lifestyle home furnishings company. She previously held marketing leadership roles at Dell and Rackspace and founded the Social Arts & Science Institute, working with brands including Adobe, Whole Foods, and Verizon.

Tim Dowling, a private investor and former investment banking executive, brings extensive financial leadership experience from senior roles at Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan. He previously served on The Contemporary Austin's Strategic Planning Committee and currently serves on the board of Rawson Saunders.

Steven González serves as Regional President of PNC Bank, Austin, overseeing business development, sponsorship, and community philanthropic initiatives. With over 18 years in Austin's financial sector, he actively supports the community through board service with Opportunity Austin, Austin Theatre Alliance, and the Andy Roddick Foundation Leadership Council.

Lora Reynolds, a prominent gallery owner and art collector, opened her contemporary gallery in Austin in 2005. It represents mid-career and established artists who create museum-quality work. She serves on the boards of the Blanton Museum of Art and People's Community Clinic and is a passionate advocate for reproductive rights and environmental cause

Tammie Rubin, a ceramic sculptor and installation artist, serves as associate professor of studio arts, ceramics at Texas State University. A 2024 USA Fellow in Craft and 2022 Tito's Prize winner, she has served six years on the City of Austin's Cultural Arts Division Art in Public Places Panel and is a member of ICOSA Collective.

Albert Swantner brings technology leadership as chief technology officer of SaveDay and co-founder of Nameless CPG. Previously co-founder and CTO of Mobile Tech RX, which was successfully acquired by Repairify, Inc., he was also a partner and investor in early-stage startups at The Fund Austin.
