The Contemporary Austin travels to Germany for a rare convergence of three major international contemporary art exhibitions. Beginning in Kassel, travelers will experience documenta, one of the world’s most influential and ambitious contemporary art exhibitions, held only once every five years. The journey continues to Münster for Skulptur Projekte Münster, the landmark decennial exhibition that places contemporary sculpture and public art throughout the city. The trip concludes in Berlin with the Berlin Biennale, a leading platform for experimental, political, and internationally engaged contemporary art. Together, these three cities offer a rare look at how artists, institutions, and civic spaces are shaping the future of contemporary art.
